Tonight, it was Inventing the Abbotts, which I chose over Exit to Eden and Dick Tracy, because I'd seen both of the latter, and as much as I enjoyed Madonna in DT, and as hard as I have fallen for the character of Lisa when I read the book and for Dana Delany when I first saw her in China Beach... I hadn't seen ItA yet, and the combination of Jennifer Connelly and Liv Tyler was strong temptation.
It was just supposed to be a little background mental bubble gum while I did some surfing.
And then I got sucked into the story.
And then it got to tugging at heartstrings.
No tears tonight, but a definite lump in the throat at a few points.
A semi-happy ending to the film even... but I'm still verklempt.
And arise I must, in not more than 5 short hours...
I think I'm forgetting something scheduled for Friday... Any clues?
Competing parties come Saturday night (Turlough's, where I should see many folks I haven't seen in quite a while; and Danny's, where I'd see a rather different list of folks)... I'll probably be going to the first.
Saturday or Sunday daytime, if the weather eases up, I hope to find a helpful person or two with a few muscles and a few hours, go collect my trailer at long last, return my friend's Safety Cross, and get the jumbotron, couch, stereo rack, and maybe a couple other pieces of furniture out of storage and into my currently rather empty living room....
Hey, Mrs D -- lunch, brunch, dinner, or some such in these next few days?
