Next weekend, Sat the 15th & Sun the 16th, we'll be doing a big push with truck and such.
Lifting and carrying things (furniture [mostly just awkward, but some actually heavy], a bunch of boxes, maybe a body or two) is what will be most helpful, but moral support and other lighter duty is not without value. That said, if you're not a lifter/carrier, please check with us before coming over, so we can stay focused on the primary task.
We're hoping to have enough helpers that bucket-brigade efforts can replace most box-laden stair climbing (both ends involve three floors plus a basement). We're doing a fair bit of staging downwards on the move-out side, in advance preparation.
We'll supply food and drink at appropriate points, and lots of gratitude throughout.
Timing is rough, but we'll probably start around 10 or 11 both days, and go until we're done or too tired to do any more.
Knowing in advance that you'll be here will be excellent, but last-minute helpers are almost always better than not.
Move-in (near Wellington Circle, Medford) is only about 3 miles from move-out (near Davis Square, Somerville), but traffic patterns can make them 20+ minutes apart. If you're coming over at noon or later, probably best to ring one of us up first, to find out where you'll be most helpful.
On-street parking is plentiful at both ends. Move-in requires no permit; move-out, some spots are permit-free, some are not -- we can tell you which are which.
