The "half your age, plus 7" limit for the youngest person you should date was rejected, as several of the conversation participants would have missed out on relationships we value having or having had. No alternative was suggested for this aspect of things.
Then "the campground rule" was suggested as a behavioral model.
"What?" I asked, "Take only pictures, leave only footprints?"
Much laughter later, "No, no," I was told. "Leave them better than you found them."
I like my rule better.
