but the drum now needing a new head has been out of commission for a few months already, and I won't be seeing them until late May, and the drum wouldn't be done for another month at least, and then have to be shipped back.

So -- if you were in the Boston vicinity, and had a medium-sized djimbe needing a new head, who would you go to for fast *and* quality results?
I don't actually know what skin the old head was -- it was fairly elastic, and he liked to keep it pretty loose by comparison to every other I've ever played. But I imagine any traditional skin would make him happier than no skin at all.
