Yesterday, it was moderately late rising, a celebratory brunch for concrete's birthday and green card anniversary, a few hours of detritus-wrestling and muck-raking in the Circlet Press portion ceciliatan's basement, and a few hours celebrating another friend's 50th birthday in Salem.
The rest of last week is largely a blur, tracking back to Tuesday, when paychecks were distributed -- and though long-overdue reviews have not yet happened, equally long-overdue raises were found therein. For me, the raise was 18%, 4.5 years after my last. Viewed in isolation, this is a stellar raise; with the perspective of the time since the last, it's not so stellar, but still better than cost-of-living, and I'm not nearly so disenchanted as I was last month at this time. The best part of that? It covers my new car payment, and then some.
