a film suited for the holiday...

Why, yes, in fact -- Holiday, 1938, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn.

The capsule description read "Philip Barry's play about the futility of wealth, directed by George Cukor and played to the hilt by a marvelous cast." They called it a comedy, and I suppose it is that, but it is also a romance, well and truly.

I watched it because of the two stars listed above. I'll watch anything with either of them in it. Both is a bonus.

I need much, much more old cinema in my library.
