Last Tango in Paris

Brando is really not a romantic hero... but Maria Schneider was a beauty... and the pathos of this film, from several angles, is captivating.

I never saw it before, and it was quite a shot to the heart.

Kinda fitting to conclude this evening.

It reminded me how much I miss Paris. Not that I was there long -- only a week or so at a time, once in Spring of 1982, and again in early Summer of 1985 -- but I quite enjoyed both trips. The people were far more friendly than most common stories would have had me believe, the food was stellar -- even from the streetcarts! -- and the overall environment, architecturally and otherwise, was well past pleasant.

I think it's past time to relocate my passport, and start planning a proper vacationish voyage, to Paris or otherwise.
