Saturday, EarthSpirit's Open Yule East, facilitated by a bunch of folks, including yours truly --

EarthSpirit invites you to attend its annual Winter Solstice Celebration.

Join us as we gather together to welcome the returning light to the Earth, and take part in a ritual celebrating the longest night and this cycle of the seasons. We come together to renew our connections and share the warmth of community.

The Winter Solstice, also known as Yule, is the holiday celebrating the rebirth of the Sun in the Pagan year. At this time of year many in the Northern Hemisphere gather together to rejoice at the beginning of the lengthening days.

The Boston Area Circle will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 2005 at:

Green Street Studios
185 Green Street (Central Square)
Cambridge, MA 02139

(There is parking nearby and it is MBTA Bus and Red Line accessible.)

The celebration will begin at 7:00 PM and the doors will close at 7:45 PM for the duration of the evening celebration.

This is a family participation event.

Need directions?    try - MapQuest

Come dressed in your festive holiday finery, and bring a non-perishable food to give to a local food bank - this time of year they prefer protein foods such as Peanut Butter and Tuna.

If you are musical, bring a hand instrument and/or your voice to join in the revelry.

There will be a light potluck after the ritual so please bring finger food to share.

Donations for admission $10 will be collected at the door to cover our expenses, children under 16 may be admitted for $6.
Associate members may deduct $1.

All are welcome.

(Open Yule West will be in Northampton on Sunday, with a different crew of facilitators and participants, for those who aren't able to get to Cambridge, Saturday...)

And Sunday -- a free evening of music at the Midway Cafe, Jamaica Plain --

I first saw Colleen, of the Jazz Trio, singing with James the Viking in October, when I went out to the Platypus Rex show at the Kirkland Cafe; and again later that weekend, singing with Ujamaa at the Midway's Halloween event. Described by one of my friends as that perfect combination of perky and intense, she's worth the trip....

Join me for dinner, beforehand? I'm thinking sushi, or korean, or indian, or...

Holiday Party / Rock meets Jazz / Sunday, December 18th / Featuring: / Black California / Millis Pride / Brian O'Connell / Colleen, Justin & Nathan - Jazz Trio / at the Midway Cafe / Show starts at 8pm / No Cover!
